This week Nathan looks at the next section in Mark where, once Jesus disciples acknowledge Him as the Messiah, he immediately begins teaching them of his betray, death and resurrection and the cost of discipleship. This is completely different from their understanding of what the Messiah came to do and so they are confronted with the reality that following Jesus is costly.
