More People, More Like Jesus

At Enfield Baptist Church, our vision is simple: More People, More Like Jesus.

We want to see more people discovering the life and love of Jesus, and all of us becoming more like him as we follow him together.

Our mission is to be a community where people can belong, encounter God, and be formed into the way of Jesus together. We believe church is more than something we attend. It is a community we belong to, a place where we meet with God, and a people among whom Jesus continues to shape our lives.

Four values help describe the kind of community we want to become:

Deeply Connected
We make room for genuine relationships with God and with one another, where people are known, valued and have a place to belong.

Overflowing Love
The love we receive from Jesus is never meant to stop with us. We want it to overflow into our homes, neighbourhoods, workplaces and community.

Simple Acts
Following Jesus often looks wonderfully ordinary: noticing people, listening well, praying, serving, sharing a meal, offering encouragement and responding when God gives us an opportunity.

Radical Generosity
Because God has been generous with us, we want generosity to shape the way we live. We freely share our time, gifts, resources, hospitality and lives for the good of others.

Everyone has a part to play

Our approach to ministry is shaped by Ephesians 4:11–16. Paul describes church leaders not as the people who do all the ministry, but as people called to equip God’s people for works of service.

That means ministry at EBC belongs to everyone.

Pastors and leaders help create environments where people can discover their gifts, grow in faith and be equipped to serve. Every follower of Jesus has something to contribute, and every person can participate in what God is doing.

As each person plays their part, Paul says the whole body grows and becomes mature in Christ.

That is the kind of church we want to be: deeply connected to Jesus and one another, equipped and empowered to serve, growing together, and carrying the love of Jesus into the places God has already put us.
